Foodhackaton : change the food system, not the climate !
Created by Robin Placet, the Foodhackaton is a 3-days meetup for food and planet lovers.
For a week-end, groups work together around a project and pitch their business idea in front of a jury.
This time, I worked with two entrepreneurs, a nutritionist and a developer around Greenmyfood.
1/3 of the CO2 emissions are because of industrial farming.
80% of our food is made out of animal products whereas 50 year ago, it was 80% plant-based.
Acknowledging this fact, people are ready to eat less animal products and start living on new diets.
But how do we replace meat, eggs and milk ?
It’s always so hard to find alternatives when you’re a beginner.
Here comes Green My Food, a game that helps you reduce the animal products in your diet,
improve your health and reduce your environmental impact.
Starting by interviewing people in the street about their meat consumption, we created a persona and thought about what kind of reward people where looking for to change their habits.
In the form of a sick planet, the game wants the user to tell what he ate today in order
to improve the health of the planet.
To help him find alternatives, he has access to a bunch of cool recipes and a map
showing the vegetarian/vegan restaurants around him.
The community part is important : the user can see his performances and those of the whole community in terms of CO2 spared, the animals saved, and so on.
