Create a start-up, a business plan and a design a product in 4 months
From september to january, I managed a team of 5 person. Our challenge was to create a start-up and a strong business plan along with it.
This project included designing a user-centered product, creating a brand identity, elaborating a marketing and communication strategy and calculating a financial plan to get investments.
Where shall we meet tonight ?
We always think of these moments when we meet with our friends and how wonderful it is to enjoy dinner or a drink together.
But spending these moments always start with this question : Where should we meet?
Here goes the never-ending exchange of emails, texts, phonecalls to coordinate everyone.
And when it comes to taking a decision on where to go, no one wants to take the lead.
In the end, the place chosen is not that great and some people need to do extra travel time to get there.
So we created Get Closer, an app that automatically generates a meeting area with an equal travel time for everyone.
This service takes into account the location of each participant, the mean of transportation and the availability.
How we built our product
Our process for these 4 months was to iterate at every step of the project.
We brainstormed about the idea, starting from an insight we had in our daily lives.
Then we tested it with interviews and interactive forms and our results were matching the original idea.
We explored the habits of people when going out : the applications they use, the way they communicate with each other and their behavior.
First, we created a form with multiple questions. We got 200 answers that helped us get some numbers and facts :
Then, we listed our main competition and placed them in a competition map to see where our idea could be positioned.
We created 3 personas meeting for a drink and analyzed their user journeys.
Below is our main persona, Chloé, who likes to go out for dinner and drinks with her friends.
Her main problem is finding the right place for everyone. It takes her so much time that sometimes she gives up and end up drinking bad cocktails in a lame bar. She wants to explore and find new cool places without having to argue with her friends. She wants to make a quick decision that is good for everyone.
